CNY 2010 as a Mrs!

CNY 2010 was very meaningful filled with mixed emotions for me…and I suppose for Mr.Hubsterman as well…............Y??? hehe…lemme story …

Its our first year as Mr & Mrs Yuen

Mr.Hubsterman had to report back for duty after 3days of being officially MARRIED! which was on the 04^th Feb. However, I manage make a trip to Singapore with Hubstermans’ parents & sister a week or two, before CNY to kinda have a ‘reunion’ dinner , as well as just before he sails off to……….(where was it u went honey?? I lupa…)

Only just 2-3days I didn’t see Hubsterman…it seemed to me, like he had lost weight,he looked so so tired and tanned liao!! (hahaha…m over exaggerating) Nevertheless, m SO SO glad to see him.

Nooo..its not kutu on his head! Its just paint!!look at his hand…either he was too kan-cheong to see me or the paint just couldn't be washed off… he had to continue painting the nextday anyway..y bother too much!! Heeheeee!!

i had to.....just abiiiit…. *LOL*

This was what we had…actually ONE of the dishes we had…(didn’t take the rest coz,after this dish..hands dirty liao)-Black Pepper Sri Lankan Crabs!! Seriously yummy!! I tink they used like 50tonnes of black pepper there..Phewww!!

Then came the actual CNY reunion dinner…..which I spent at my aunt’s place…just 2 blocks away from moms’…

This is what we had, but I think there were more….not enuf space on the table! Hehe..

14^th Feb is 1^st day of CNY as well as Valentine’s Day..

I was surprised to receive a call from a delivery guy saying that there were flowers for me!!! I received the call at approx 8-ish in the morning (yes..yes…I was still membabi-ing)..at that moment I really couldn’t comprehend!!! It kept running in my head…who on earth would send me flowers?? Could it be from some Secret Admirer??-I thought those days were long-gone liao!! Hehehe…Ohh..btw, I spent d nite at the condo wif my sis,the delivery was to Moms’…the delivery guy said no one was at home!! Anyway,I called mom to receive the flowers on my behalf…

I was so so kan-cheong and asked mom to read the card to me… to my ULTIMATE surprise it was from my darling Hubsterman!!!! (I love u honey!)

This is what I got!!!! (wouldn’t u just shed a tear??? I know I did!!! Pure Sweetness riiite??? *Loves!!!*

Dinner that nite was at mom’s place…we had steamboat…SEAFOOD steamboat to be exact!!hehehe..no wait!!! Seafood TOMYAM steamboat.

** mom was ‘hooked’ on wasabi ever since sushi zanmai @ Gardens…hahah..

Second day of CNY, was ‘celebrated’ in Tanjung Malim with the in-laws…

Seriously…I have NEVER EVER had ‘fresh’ yee sang….made from scratch before!!!! (I had a share in the making of this yee-sang! Yesss..of course I m proud of myself!!)… taste???...it was juicier,sumhow tasted much more yummier than the ones bought from tai-chow restaurants ;)

What's CNY w'out fireworks especially THUNDERCLAP & hung phao as well as..what's CNY wif NO GAMBLING!!! -eventho AhSeong won most of my life savings :P

we had loadsa FUN...i guess it'd be much more FUNNN wif Hubsterman around!

IWANA get-a-way.....

After almost 2 weeks back, we finally manage to slot in a short weekend getaway.... it was between langkawi, pangkor or sumwhere east coast.... Then we decided the east coast and since there isnt gonna be any diving involved this time, we decided on cherating.... somehow, due to some unforeseen circumstances, we didnt get the place we wanted in cherating.... the rest is either too costly or just too dodgy...or FULL!! hahaha...

after all the hoo hah of where to stay, we finally decided on awana kijal... well, technically its still in the east coast but its way out of cherating area... it's in a totally different state all together... haha.. anyway. we arrived there late in the evening and there wasnt much to do.... except to take shower then makan..... we drove back to kemaman for our dinner... well, we actually tapau-ed something from kemaman- very cheap & yummy fried rice + fried noodles and the ever famous stuffed crabs!!!!! *sorry no fotos :P*

a sexy toilet wif bathtub and super duper view.. so PURFECT!

the rest of the nite was spent on the beach.......

the real adventure began the next day.....woke up for our breakie.....very typical hotel breakie... abit of locals, english breakfast minus the proper bacon, proper sausages, proper eggs... haha... maybe should name it english wannabe breakie... haha....

the rest of the morning/noon was spent on the beach... trying to get tanned but instead ended up getting burnt!! :p haha....

then came lunch time.... resort food is just too expensive, again we drove to kemaman for our meal.... ohh well.... u are not officially in kemaman if u havent been to hai peng... so, we decided to check out hai peng so that we can go back and tell others we went to kemaman for the weekend... food?? nuthing to shout about.... same old haipeng... nuthing new.......

dinner was even crazier.... we actually drove almost 1 hr... 60km south to kuantan for pak su seafood..... haha... after reading all the comments from food bloggers and most of them recommended paksu, we decided to give it a try..... food was not bad.... not really fantastic and can easier get them in KL... again, its for the experience... haha..... we ordered "ham tan" sotong - which was quite good... wet and tasty... hehe.... the "chiu-pai" taufoo is so so la... nuthing to shout about..... the steamed red groupa was good...fresh and nicely done.....

along the road, there was this stall selling watermelon... and we decided to stop and get ourselves a watermelon for dessert...which lasted us 2 meals! hehehe....

My current state....

am almost in the state of lifeless... haha... been working since mid oct till now.... was back for 3 weeks just before xmas for my sis's wedding....then off to job again.... this time we did some tooling sea trials for our next project in japan.... then back for another week...... then off to another project in s'pore!! haha... and after 8 weeks, here i am........

my first experience was a jacket installation somewhere off terengganu... it was a very interesting job.... a little involvement from the ROV department....after the job, the vessel proceeded to s'pore... for the winter maintenance program... this is where i started to do more practical jobs..... scaffolds being erected and places not accessible before this are being maintained.... it was a great experience.... working daily 0600-1800 for 7 days a week..... after 4 weeks, am felling all worked out.....

the crew boat which i took to the project site.... it was a long 8 hours journey..... thankfully, the seat was comfy and spacious and i slept the whole way...haha... when i got up, i saw everyone busy offloading and started climbing into the crew basket....

room..... 2 men room...wif lcd tv and limited astro channels.... well... not that u really haf time to watch la.... would rather sleep during free time..... :) room comes with attached bathroom and 2 steel locker..... since we work on different shifts, we never see each other in the room..... 100% privacy.... hehe....
